History
An archive repository was discovered in Rooms K, M, and S of the Governor's Palace at Kalhu. This group of 217 clay tablets belong to five successive governors of the city and date from 835 BC to 710 BC. Apart from one literary text and a perfume recipe, the tablets discovered in Rooms K and M are generally legal documents, whereas the tablets in Room S are administrative texts. and letters (usually addressed to the governors).
